Surge in Price Hikes Across the Entire Industrial Chain Hits, Lighting Industry Shows Obvious Transmission Differences
Since 2026, the lighting industry has witnessed the most intensive wave of price increases in the past three years, affecting upstream chip and packaging enterprises, midstream finished product manufacturers, as well as downstream distributors and engineering contractors to varying degrees.
According to incomplete statistics, more than 100 enterprises in the industry have issued price adjustment notices, with increases ranging from 3% to 25%. The core incentive is the sharp rise in prices of international bulk commodities such as gold, silver and copper, leading to soaring raw material costs.
Notably, there is a significant divergence in price transmission: Upstream chip and packaging enterprises have implemented price hikes smoothly due to high industry concentration; Midstream finished product manufacturers are caught in a dilemma of losing orders if they follow the price rise or suffering losses if they do not; Distributors delay price transmission by relying on inventory buffers, with their profit margins continuously squeezed; The engineering market, locked by fixed contract prices, bears the brunt of price pressures, with some projects falling into a standstill.
